Popular Former Bruegger’s is Now a Brand New Cafe in Latham
Back in October, it was announced that a long time Bruegger's Bagel Shop inside Latham's Newton Plaza would reopen as another bagel shop and cafe, and immediately many wanted to know what would be replacing it.
Bruegger's, which was closed permanently back in September, sat empty waiting for the new tenants to come in. And while the new cafe is similar in terms of some of the food options, it's much different in terms of looks, feel, and vibe.
Newton Plaza's newest cafe does have bagels, cream cheese, salads, and sandwiches, but for The Works Cafe in Latham, that's where the similarities end.

The Works Cafe, a chain out of New Hampshire, opened their Capital Region cafe Monday in Latham, and this is their first one in New York.
According to the Times Union, owners have four New Hampshire locations, two in Vermont and one each in Massachusetts and Maine. According to the source, the one nearest to the Capital Region is about an hour away in Manchester, Vermont.
The Works Cafe excitedly invited hungry Capital Region residents to check out their new space this week for the Grand Opening.
Here's what they wrote on their Facebook Page,
"Come visit our incredible team in Latham, NY for opening week!
Our Latham Café is our ninth location in the Northeast, but first Café in the state of New York!
Stop in and try a NY-style bagel with Vermont cream cheese, a salad, quinoa bowl, maybe a panini? View our full menu online at workscafe.com
We hope to see you soon!"
