There’s an appeal going on to help our people who are serving in the military and are stationed overseas.

Operation Adopt A Soldier sends much needed items to those who are serving.

I recently received a phone call and press release from Susan Drescher, the auxiliary chairperson for the Clifton Park Elks Lodge (B.P.O.E. No. 2466). She told me about the organization (which has been set up by Cliff Seguin). The shelves at the Operation Adopt A Soldier home in Saratoga/Wilton/Gansevoort are practically bare and are desperately in need of donated items.

Even though it’s been said that the troops are coming home, there are still a lot of soldiers who won’t be coming home yet. Many will remain overseas and many who are serving in very hostile places. They will be stationed there right through the Christmas season. Many soldiers are also injured and are in hospitals.

This is where we can all help. Here’s a list of the items that are needed.
