NFL Player Helps Local Woman Battling Leukemia
Josh Keyes of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a former student of Chatham High School and this weekend he's headed home in support of a fellow Chatham native.
Leah Whiteman was a track star for Chatham High and has been battling Leukemia since the spring. She is currently recovering from a bone marrow transplant in a Buffalo hospital, but while she's recovering this weekend a special event will be happening in her honor.
She says, "I can absolutely feel their love, thoughts and prayers," when it comes to her community of Chatham. A fundraiser is being held in her honor entitled #WHITEMANSTRONG Day. The event includes a football skills camp, flag football tournament, bounce house, autographs and more.
