New Restaurant Featuring All-Day Breakfast and Comfort Food Coming Soon to Albany
A new spot for comfort food and community is set to open soon in Albany. The former Albany Ale and Oyster space will become Little City Luncheonette, an all-day breakfast and lunch restaurant from Mia and Joe Hinners and BMT Hospitality.
The restaurant will bring back the charm of a classic neighborhood diner. The menu features breakfast favorites such as eggs, pancakes, and home fries, alongside sandwiches, milkshakes, soft-serve ice cream, and desserts. Comfort food dishes such as chicken pot pie and meatloaf will also be featured.
A full bar is planned, with ideas like a breakfast happy hour for overnight workers who want a sandwich with coffee or maybe even a beer. The goal is to keep prices reasonable while giving people the option to upgrade their meals. Guests can stick with scrambled eggs and toast or go for something more special, like a smoked salmon Benedict.
According to the Albany Business Review, renovations have been underway since spring, and the restaurant is expected to open by the end of October. The layout will seat about 60 people with both counter service and table seating.
The team hopes the space feels relaxed and welcoming, a place where families can enjoy breakfast together or someone can stop in for pie and coffee. About 15 employees will be hired for both full-time and part-time positions.
Little City Luncheonette will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the possibility of adding dinner later on.
