2006- Rascal Flatts' guitarist Joe Don Rooney marries model Tiffany Fallon.  Tiffany is Miss December in 2004 and the 2005 Playboy Playmate of the Year.  In one of her Playboy spreads she admits that she loves cowboy boots, country music, southern hospitality, and the music of Waylon Jennings.  Tiffany and Joe both appear naked in public. Joe Don Rooney exposed his backside in the Rascal Flatts' video for the hit 'I Melt.' The video is considered the first in Country Music history to show an artist in the nude.

1992- A 13-mile stretch of Mississippi Highway 23 is renamed for Tammy Wynette.  The road is later renamed Tammy Wynette Memorial Highway in 2010.


Roy Orbison, 1936. As a young man, he begins his music career by forming a country band called "The Wink Westerners." A 1987 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, he lands on the country charts with his single 'You Got It.' Prior to his last hit, he duetswith Emmylou Harris on 'That Loving You Feeling Again' and KD Lang on the Grammy winning version of his classic 'Crying.' Roy dies in 1988 of a heart attack at age 52, while his single 'You Got It' brings him back in popularity.
