Big Grammy Weekend for Country Music & More in Casey’s Taste of Country
There is going to be a huge country presence, once again, at the 2012 Grammy Awards this coming Sunday night. Last year you might remember Lady Antebellum took home five Grammys for their song "Need You Now" and their record. This year, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, and Blake Shelton are all up for three awards each; Kenny Chesney is nominated for two as well as Thompson Square. And George Strait, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins, Vince Gill and Civil Wars all have the honor of being nominated for one Grammy.
.
Something we can expect from country this Sunday will be a performance by Taylor Swift. She is actually performing, something previously unheard of. Jason Aldean will perform "Don't You Wanna Stay" with help from Kelly Clarkson, and as I mentioned earlier this week, Glen Campbellis expected to team up with The Band Perry and Blake Shelton for a special tribute to his music. Carrie Underwood will also duet with Tony Bennett with ‘It Had To Be You.’
.
Toby Keith's latest hit, "Red Solo Cup," has already generated 11 million video views and been covered on the hit show Glee. Not only is Toby's song so popular, but also new merchandise on his online store. Red Solo Cup t-shirts that say "Proceed to Party," have been selling very, very well. They actually sold out within a few hours of going on sale last week.
A Rascal Flatts' significant other is gaining more publicity. Joe Don Rooney's wife, Tiffany Fallon, will be featured on a list of the '20 Hottest Up and Coming MMA Ring Girls.'
