More Apartments Proposed at Old Greenhouse in Saratoga County
A local builder is hoping to get approval to build upscale apartments in a busy section of southern Saratoga County. The former greenhouse would be gone to make way for not only apartments but also a commercial building.
What is the Proposed Plan?
Bob Marini Builders is hoping to use the old Ben's Greenhouse space on Grooms Road in Halfmoon to build new luxury apartments.
His plan calls for three two-story buildings to be built in the back of the property. Each building would contain ten upscale apartments. There would be thirty units in total. It would be called Norwood Terrace.
The luxury apartment rent will range from eleven hundred dollars for a studio, fifteen to sixteen hundred dollars for a one-bedroom, and nineteen hundred to two thousand dollars for a two-bedroom unit.
There will be an eight thousand square foot commercial building built closer to Grooms Road. Parking would be available on the lower level of the two-story office building.
It is a unique design. According to the Albany Business Review, Bob Marini Jr. said,
They are unique in the sense they have 4-sided architecture. If you look at the building you won't be able to tell which side is the front. All four sides are designed to look like they can face the road.
Norwood Terrace would connect to the Timberwick subdivision nearby.
What's the Next Step?
Norwood Terrace will be presented to the Halfmoon Town Board on June 7th, If the board gives the go-ahead, the project would have to go for a site plan review.
