Local Shelter Helping Hurricane Dorian Animals
Hurricane Dorian is moving up the coast and a local animal shelter is helping to get some furry friends out of harm's way. They are also offering special fees for adoption. The largest hurricane continues to run along the east coast and is set to make landfall near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. According to News 10 ABC, the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is working with the Grand Strand Humane Society to bring cats to the Capital Region.
They were worried that these animals would have to be stranded and there wouldn't be enough space available. The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society agreed to take in about thirty cats that arrived yesterday.
The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society will be waiving the adoption fees on all of the cats in the shelter that are three years old and older. This only runs through today (Thursday, September 5th).
