Legendary Late Night Host Trolls Furious New York Basketball Star

Kevin Durant is an elite basketball player. He's one of the best players currently playing the game, and approaching the territory of one of the best players of all time. He's won titles, won MVPs, won scoring titles, and still has a lot more to give in his career. No one can take that away from Kevin Durant.

He is not, however, the greatest at taking a joke, and legendary late night television host and comedian David Letterman decided to put that to the test.

This is a Grade-A, top-level troll job by one of the best comedians in the game.

The New York Post grabbed some of the more hilarious soundbites in their article earlier today, including this gem of an interaction:

Letterman, who introduced himself as “Dave from Basketball Digest,” asked hard-hitting questions, like, “Why do people call you ‘KD’?”

 

Durant explained the obvious and replied, “My first name is Kevin with a ‘K’ and my last name is Durant with a ‘D’.” - New York Post

Personally, I love the post-Late Show David Letterman career, and this is just another notch in that belt. His Netflix interview-based show is entertaining while also coming across as heartfelt, and brings the best out of some of the world's most misunderstood stars.

Aside from that, however, you never know exactly when Dave is going to pop up, and what he's going to be doing when you find him. You know that it's going to be funny, and you know that he'll probably be slightly annoying to the person with which he's interacting. All that said, it will always make for a compelling watch.

On the side of Kevin Durant, one word of advice...RELAX. It's the beginning of the preseason, KD, not the end of the NBA Finals. Take a joke, play along with the comedic legend, and have a laugh or two. Something innocuous like this could actually really help his public profile.

Instead, however, we are left shaking our heads once again at the incomparable, incomprehensible Kevin Durant.
