Latham – Are You Ready For A New Walmart?

There have been so many stories about what will be coming to the site of the former Latham Circle Mall.

The WGNA Studios and offices were housed in the mall for more than 10 years. The last store to close was J.C. Penney. Most of the mall has already been torn down in order to rebuild and open as The Shoppes At Latham Circle.Those plans included a supermarket.

In an article from the Times Union, a new Walmart Supercenter will be built on the property. The plan is to have Walmrt be an anchor store for the new Shoppes At Latham Circle.

The Walmart that’s located across the street in the Latham Farms shopping center will be closing once the new Walmart is in full operation. Most of the current employees at the Latham Farms Walmart will remain employed at the new store, and possibly add almost 100 more positions for employment.

There’s no word, yet, about when the new Walmart Supercenter will be completed.
