While I'm not telling you anything about Lake Placid that you don't already know, it still feels good to see one of our own get some national love.

According to USA Today, Lake Placid has earned a spot among the Top Ski Resorts in the United States, as part of the publication’s annual 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

USA Today asked that very question: Beyond the fresh snow and easy access to the slopes, what truly makes a ski town great?

For some, it’s the lively downtown with restaurants, bars, and boutique shops. For others, it’s about that cozy small-town charm, historic atmosphere, and the kind of accommodations that make you want to stay an extra night, or perhaps three!

A panel of travel experts nominated 20 top destinations across the country, and readers now have the chance to vote once per day until Monday, November 10 at 12 noon. Winners will be revealed on Wednesday, November 19th.
