2010-Charlie Daniels suffers a mild stroke while snowmobiling in Colorado. At the time he's 73 and still touring on a regular basis, including regular USO tours overseas.
1992-Garth Brooks' "No Fences" and "Ropin' The Wind" become the first country albums certified for shipments of 6 million, while his self-titled first album goes triple-platinum, for selling 3 million copies.
1992-Johnny Cash is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, with Booker T. & The MGs, Jimi Hendrix, Sam & Dave, Bobby "Blue" Bland, guitar maker Leo Fender, songwriter Doc Pomus and The Yardbirds, including guitarist Eric Clapton.
