The Headlines:

 2010- Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow shoot concert footage for the movie "Country Strong" at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium.  The film opens to a slow reception at theaters nationwide in January 2011.  Gwyneth sings on three songs that appear on the soundtrack, including the title track with Vince Gill.

 1993- Willie Nelson agrees to pay $9 million of the $16.7 million he owes the Internal Revenue Service in a meeting at the IRS office in Austin, Texas.   Willie had already paid back about $3 million before the deal.

Birthdays:

Howard Bellamy, 1946.  In 1976 he sings lead on the Bellamy Brothers crossover hit "Let Your Love Flow."  Ironically, his brother David would take the lead vocals on most all of their Country hits in the 1980s.

Rusty Kershaw, 1940.  Rusty sang with his brother Doug Kershaw as "Rusty and Doug" on hits like "Louisiana Man" and "Diggy Liggy Lo."  Rusty dies in 2001 at the age of 63.
