I have seen some tough fights at the top of the country music charts before, but the current fight for the top spot between Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley may be one of the best ever.

On the Mediabase chart which is used by Kix Brooks and the American Country Countdownheard  Sunday nights from 6-10pm right here on WGNA 107.7, and wgna.com Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson have held the #1 spot for 2 weeks in a row and it looks like they have a real good shot at 3 weeks with the huge country hit "Don't You Wanna Stay".

The current CMA Entertainer of The Year Brad Paisley has been holding onto the #2 spot of the charts with his mega country hit "This Is Country Music" and is trying to knock off Jason Aldean.

They are literally only separated by about 100 spins on the chart. The Mediabase chart is compiled by using airplay detectors of some of America's most prominent and powerful country station. Country 107.7, WGNA-FM is a Mediabase monitored and reporter station which basically means anytime we play a new country song it actually contributes to the charts and countdowns you hear with Bob Kingsleyand Kix Brooks right here on WGNA-FM.

In honor of the young gun Jason Aldean holding off the mega country superstar Brad Paisley, here's the video for "Don't You Wanna Stay"  performed live at the CMA Awards thanks to our friends at You Tube.
