Brit Floyd began paying tribute to Pink Floyd in 2011, out of the ashes of a different Pink Floyd tribute band, Australian Pink Floyd. When musician Damian Darlington left Australian Pink Floyd he felt he could top that act and formed Brit Floyd.

With Brit Floyd, Darlington promises more attention to detail focusing on the nuances of the music as well as the light show. In 2025 Brit Floyd celebrated the 50th Anniversary of "Wish You Were Here" with a show at Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
