World-Famous Baseball Phenomenon to Play in This Upstate NY City in 2024

The most popular phenomenon in baseball is returning to Upstate New York in 2024.

A few baseball fans were lucky enough to secure tickets to see the Savannah Bananas play in Upstate NY in 2023, as the team took their Banana Ball World Tour to Syracuse on September 14th, and Cooperstown's Doubleday Field on September 16th.

This time around, they'll take the long ride on Route 20 out to a different Upstate New York city. Will you be making the trip, too?

Savannah Bananas Announce Three-Game Series in Upstate NY City in 2024

A story from New York Upstate shared an update from the Savannah Bananas, the independent baseball team based in Savannah, Georgia, who recently announced their 2024 season schedule.

The baseball phenomenon, one that draws comparisons to the Harlem Globetrotters, will be playing a three-game series at Sahlen Field in Buffalo on July 5, 6 and 7. Those are their only games in New York in 2024; they will play in Boston on June 8, 2024 and Philadelphia on September 21, 2024.

All of the games mentioned above will be played at ballparks which have hosted Major League Baseball games. The game in Boston will be played at Fenway Park, while the game in Philadelphia will be played at Citizens Bank Park.

The games in Buffalo will be played at Sahlen Field, which is the home of the Buffalo Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. The Jays played their home games at the stadium during the 2020 and 2021 MLB seasons, as they were not allowed to cross the border into the United States to play road games at the time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ballpark can seat up to 16,600 people, making it the highest-capacity Triple-A ballpark in the United States.

As noted by New York Upstate, the Bananas' frequent opponent, the Party Animals, will also be playing games as part of their own tour in 2024, where they will be taking on a new opponent, the Firefighters. More information on those games is expected to be announced shortly.
