Halloween In Albany Has Gone To The Dogs
Halloween is a favorite holiday of many, and for good reason. There's something for everybody, from costume contests to house parties, and free candy to horror movie marathons.
In Albany, when we say something for everyone we mean everyone, and that includes everyone's favorite furry friends.
Hounds of Halloween
On Saturday, October 18th, Albany will come alive for the annual "Hounds of Halloween" event. This includes a Canine Costume Contest, Dog Trick or Treating, and a "Yappy Hour" at certain bars and restaurants in Downtown Albany.
The fun starts at noon, with the Hounds of Halloween Trick or Treating and Canine Costume Contest, followed by the first annual Puppy Parade at Clinton Market Collective at 3p.m. Lastly, the "Yappy Hour" kicks off at 4 and runs until 6, offering specials and discounts for owners who bring their pups with them.

Registration and Locations
Owners who are interested in getting involved in this year's Hounds of Halloween can register through the City of Albany Downtown. The cost of entry is $20 in advance through EventNY, or $25 on the day of the event. Payment can be made with cash, credit, or Venmo. This entry fee includes entry into the costume contest, a spot in the puppy parade, access to Yappy Hour specials and giveaways, and exclusive swag you can't get anywhere else!
For those who will be entering, registration begins at noon at The Olde English Pub & Pantry's dog-friendly patio. If you don't have a dog you'd like to bring, no worries! Come on down to Downtown Albany and enjoy a day full of the cutest (and sometimes scariest) dogs the Capital Region has to offer!
