Historic Saratoga Springs Boutique Motel Getting Modern Makeover
Exciting changes are coming to Saratoga Springs, as boutique hotel brand Weekender Hotels prepares to unveil its latest project transforming the historic St. Charles Motel.
Located at the corner of South Broadway and Lincoln Avenue, this mid-century brick motel has long been a fixture of Saratoga’s hospitality scene. Once a go-to spot for travelers seeking budget-friendly lodging near the city’s renowned racetrack and mineral springs, the two-story, 18-room property will soon get a dramatic facelift.
According to the Albany Business Review, Weekender's CEO Keir Weimer said,
This is going to be a design concept, unlike anything Saratoga currently offers.
The company, based in Saratoga Springs, purchased the property earlier this year for $1.37 million. Plans are already in motion to transform the St. Charles Motel into The Ambler, a chic boutique hotel aimed at blending modern luxury with Saratoga’s historic charm.
The project, supported by REVEAL Architecture Design of Saratoga Springs and Ascend Real Estate Advisors, promises to breathe new life into the decades-old motel. Construction is underway, and Weekender Hotels plans to open The Ambler just in time for next summer’s Saratoga Race Course season.
With Weekender’s reputation for creating unique, locally inspired experiences, The Ambler is set to become a standout addition to the city’s vibrant lodging scene. If you’ve been searching for a place that combines history, style, and prime location, keep an eye on this transformation.
