Finding New York's Happiest Cities

A study aimed to look at where the happiest places to live in New York State are. This was done by looking at seven different categories, and ranking the cities with the best all-around scores. Those categories were:

  • Restaurants
  • Crime Rate
  • Commute
  • Departure Time
  • Income
  • Divorce Rate
  • Housing

When you put all these together, paired with the most recent census data, you can gain a pretty good look at which communities are the happiest. Albany, North Tonawanda, Auburn, and Rome were all in the Top-5, but only one could take the crown...

The Happiest City in New York Is...

Saratoga Springs! The vibrant community just north of the state's Capital Region was named as the happiest overall city in the state of New York, and for good reason. You have a 1 in 1,033.5 chance of being a victim of a violent crime, and the median household income only comes in at around $62,766.
