Great Sacandaga Lake Competition Ice Fishing
When you live in the great northeast, you make the best of all types of weather.
Over the weekend, nothing proved that to be more true than people that were ice fishing on the Great Sacandaga Lake. There were several people that have been competing Great Sacandaga Lake Fisheries Federation Ice Fishing Derby, and in the sixth annual Walleye challenge.
In the story on CBS 6 Albany, these hardy fishermen and women were competing, were hoping that they can cash in for some of the $70,000 in prizes and money. With people coming from so many different areas, including Ohio, this boosts the economy of the area with people needing places to stay, eat, and to gas up their vehicles.
In a story from the Leader-Herald, there were somewhere around 3,000 people that came to the area for the events.
