Gilded Age 2 to Film in Albany this Summer – Here are the Dates!
Filming for "The Gilded Age 2" will begin in Albany later next month, and details recently surfaced about when and where they'll be shooting!
Back in May, the production team of "The Gilded Age" announced they were scouting locations in Rhode Island and New York for season two of the popular HBO series set in 1880's New York City.
“The Gilded Age” starring Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, and Carrie Coon made Troy its primary home when the first season was recorded in May 2021.
And while there's been no official release date for season two, Derek Boynton from Albany recently posted the Gilded Age 2 filming schedule to Albany Reddit.
Boynton, a resident in the City of Albany, was provided a packet by the show's production team, and it outlined what to expect during the week-long filming in and around Albany's Washington Park from August 6-10th.
"Over the next few weeks will prepare locations and film scenes on a number of blocks adjacent to Washington Park. In order to accurately portray New York in 1883, we plan to populate the streets with horse and carriages and with actors dressed in period clothing on each shoot day."
While exact shoot locations for The Gilded Age 2 weren't revealed to the general public, there's enough information to get a feel for where they're going to shoot.
Many of the streets that will be restricted or blocked are right in the heart of center square Albany; Lark, Willett, State, Hudson, and Washington Ave primarily.
