From Heaven, Dad Gets Local Girl On Stage At FGL Show
This is a really touching story passed along to me from an incredible woman I've known for about 10 years named Cherie Williams. Cherie was in the "pit" Sunday night for the Florida-Georgia Line show at SPAC Sunday night, snapping some random pics while rapper Nelly was on stage dancing and singing with a super fan from Albany named Rachel. What happened next was pretty amazing...
Cherie decided to share the photos from that evening on her various social media platforms in an attempt to locate Rachel. Cherie didn't want these photos to go to waste and thought that the "young, super cute, super fan" would want to see them. The original Facebook post has since been shared over 2.5 thousand times. Well Rachel from Albany was located, and Cherie explained to me that the back story is quite amazing. Rachel has been a Nelly fan since she was a kid, and credits her father for taking her to see him when she was only 10 years old. Rachel is all grown up now, serving in the Armed Forces and her father is no longer with us. He passed away 2 years ago. But as you can see from Rachel's Instagram, and these awesome photos shared by her newfound friend Cherie Williams, her father's spirit is alive and well as Rachel believes he had everything to do with making this moment happen. What a night! On stage in front of 20,000 people, alongside her favorite performer, with daddy watching.
