This weekend, you can head up the Northway to enjoy all the free holiday festivities in Lake George Village. The event is free and fun for the entire family. Here are the details. I love this time of year. Not only because it's the Christmas season, but all of the cities, towns and villages have festivities to usher in the holiday. According to the Lake George Examiner, the 12th Annual Lite Up the Village celebration will happen this weekend.

On Saturday (November 24th), everyone will gather starting at 3:30 in Shepard Park in Lake George Village to usher in the holiday season. There will be pony rides, refreshments including hot chocolate, cider doughnuts, firepits throughout the park and live music.

The live music and entertainment will end at 6pm and then the lights will be lit after a countdown. Then a fireworks display will be set off over the lake followed by a parade of lighted firetrucks and floats up Canada Street.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will end the parade and the Marines will be on hand collecting for Toys for Tots.
