Not sure if you heard or not, but tonight is not only a big night for last minute Christmas shopping, but the year's only total lunar eclipse will be taking place late tonight and early tomorrow morning.  I know!  If you're one of those who doesn't know what a lunar eclipse is, it is when the light from the sun that normally lights up the moon gets blocked as the moon passes through the Earth's shadow.  Pretty unreal if you can imagine that in your head.  You most likely won't want to miss it!

Now, if you can imagine that, now add in the fact that tonight is also the winter solstice -- something that hasn't happened in more than 400 years.  So unless your 401-years old, you should definitely plan on getting your Christmas shopping done early tonight so you can sit/stand and watch these miraculous events.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you.  The best part about these two events coinciding is that the moon will appear higher in the sky due to the winter solstice, therefore making it even easier to see the lunar eclipse.  Be sure to check it out and let me know how it looks!
