According to TMZ, she died after a battle with lung cancer, and it was believed she contracted it because she inhaled toxic particles after the 9/11 attack in New York City. It was also mentioned that Summer did her best to keep the extent of her illness from the public.

Donna Summer had a string of disco hits from the mid 1970s through the early 1980s including ‘Hot Stuff’', 'Bad Girl', ‘Dim All The Lights’ and ‘Enough Is Enough’ - a duet she recorded with Barbra Streisand. If you had anything to do with spinning music for parties and dance clubs back then, Donna Summer one of the most popular artists that would have been in your collection of dance music. Donna Summer was 63-years-old. Our prayers are with her family.
