‘Stand By Me’ Stars Coming To Schenectady For 40th Anniversary Screening

How has it been 40 years since the iconic movie 'Stand By Me' hit theaters across the country?

If you are a child of the 80s, several movies stand out from the decade. The 'Back to the Future' trilogy, 'Breakfast Club,' and the 'Indiana Jones' series all come to mind. And of course 'Stand By Me' - the coming-of-age story of 4 friends.

The 1986 classic is one of the most iconic movies of all time and is currently being shown at theatres around the country to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its release in August of 1986.

What makes this screening tour even more special is that some of the film's biggest stars are appearing for an extended conversation about the film.

Proctors In Schenectady To Host 'Stand By Me Stars' For Special Movie Screening

Get ready for a special conversation with Corey Feldman, Jerry O’Connell, and Wil Wheaton in the Electric City!

'Stand By Me: The Film And Its Stars 40 Years Later' will be coming to Proctors Theatre in Schenectady on Saturday, January 9, 2027 at 7:30 pm. The evening will feature a screening of the legendary film, followed by what Proctors calls "...an intimate, long-awaited reunion and live conversation with the stars who lived it—Corey Feldman, Jerry O’Connell, and Wil Wheaton." The 3 actors will relive behind-the-scenes and on-screen memories and moments they shared along with their late co-star River Phoenix.

While they won't appear at the Schenectady screening, this film also featured actors like Kiefer Sutherland, John Cusack, and Richard Dreyfus.
