Burlington, the clothing store formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, is getting ready to set up shop in Nisky.

There has been a time or two when my wife Stacy has dragged me into a Burlington clothing store, and we have left with just bags of stuff. I imagine one of those trips will be happening again soon when the store that says "Love the Deals" on their website opens at Mohawk Commons.

According to a Daily Gazette story, the major clothing chain is planning to open a new brick and mortar location where Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Maurice's both used to be located in the Commons. Burlington already operates two other Capital Region Retail locations; one in Latham and one at Crossgates in Guilderland. The Gazette says the location is currently being renovated and had no word on when the new Burlington location could open.

Amidst the continuing explosion of online shopping, it seems like more physical locations for retail clothing outlets have been popping up here in greater Capital Region. We got word earlier this year that American Eagle was opening a location at the Lake George Outlets, and also that Urban Outfitters is opening at the Crossgates Mall. Clothing retailers seem to be the one retail segment that still has a need for physical, in-person access for customers. Personally, I never shop for clothes online because most of the time they don't fit right and I end up returning them! And at this point after the pandemic, aren't we just sick of doing everything online anyway?
