In the story from News 10 ABC, after an investigation by the New York State Police and New York State Department Of Environmental Conservation, it was discovered that the two men allegedly did the illegal dumping of the birds. They have been charged with Illegal Disposal Of Solid Waste, and ticketed for it. 49-year-old Dave Garrity of Nassau and 55-year-old John Losowski of Valatie have been accused of doing the illegal dumping and will be going back to Nassau Town Court next month.

According to a representative from the DEC, the birds were from a shooting preserve in Dutchess County and were killed legally. This violation could be a costly one for both accused men. Besides possibly spending a year in jail, the fine could be as much as $15,000.
