Consumer Safety Reveals Worst Toys List
Every year a consumer safety group comes out with their annual list of worst toys for the holiday season. The "worst" tag tends to lend itself to unsafe and harmful to kids. See if your kids' toys made the list. The consumer safety group called WATCH (World Against Toys Causing Harm) released its annual list of the top 10 unsafe toys.
At the top of the list was the fidget spinner. There is a major choking hazard associated with this particular toy where small parts could come off of the spinner. The Wonder Woman "battle sword" is also on the list because it could cause, according to the group, blunt force injuries. The other superhero toy that made the list was the Spiderman Drone. This one is said to potentially cause eye and body impact injuries according to WATCH. Nerf guns and products make the list every year for obvious injuries due to flying objects and Nerf bullets.
Some of the less obvious toys including a pull along pony with a 19-inch pull cord that could cause a kid to get caught up in it and potentially be strangled and a baby doll with removable parts that could cause a choking hazard. Heel Wheels which are sneakers that convert to roller skates made the list too.
The Toy Association says that the WATCH's claim is "needlessly frightening". WATCH is a nonprofit group and has been releasing its list for more than forty years.
