Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library To Hold Shooter Drill
Most likely because of the recent shootings in this country, the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library will be holding a drill today to prepare for the worst.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library will be holding an active shooter drill this afternoon, according to CBS6 Albany. Starting at 1:30PM this afternoon, there will be an announcement over the PA system. The announcement will say that there is an intruder in the library and that the library is going into lockdown. It will be made very clear that it is a drill but if you are in the library at that time, you will be required to participate.
The police are going to give people 90 seconds to react. Deputy Cooper said they decided on that time because "That's about what you have to stay alive." Then for the next half hour, they'll look around to see what actions people have taken to protect themselves. It may seem like a scary situation to be in but it's really a learning experience. Deputy Cooper said of the recent shooters "They don't look around, they just want to shoot as many people as possible."
