Breast Cancer Awareness

Every year I am honored to emcee the Mechanicville Stillwater Breast Cancer Walk. This past weekend was the 9th annual and it was bigger and more pink than ever. In the 9 years of this amazing event, these communities have managed to raise over $300,000 for breast cancer research.

There are many causes that I get behind. One that I volunteer for year round is the Mechanicville-Stillwater Breast Cancer Walk. There are many events throughout the year, and I try to help out with all of them.

It was just over three years ago that I got my diagnosis with cancer. It’s a day, no, a moment, you never forget.  How do you now go on? What about your family? All these things go through your head, well that and more. I was fortunate, I guess you could say, as the cancer I had required surgery and no follow up treatments...

We all know someone who's been affected by cancer, and we all want to help some way, some how. On Thursday, October 17, 2013 you'll have a chance to help the cause and have a good time at the 'Visions of Strength 2013: A Wine Tasting and Silent Auction' at the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy, New York.

Boy, does time fly.  We go back a long way with this guy, and he's gone a long way ever since.  Let's see what local singing sensation Anthony Gargiula is up to these days!

October 25th, 2012 marks what would have been the 100th birthday of country music personality and comedienne, Minnie Pearl!  Furthermore, The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation is also celebrating it's 25th anniversary.

The folks at Trustco Bank are in the spirit of breast cancer awareness month. October has been a powerful month for those who have been directly impacted by breast cancer, or have a friend, family member, coworker, or any other person impacted. Lots of companies get involved every year and this year Trustco is no exception.

As anyone who's life has been touched by cancer will tell you any chance to raise awareness and money to fight it is a cause worth your time! The Sean and Richie Show spoke with Lynette Stark form the Susan G. Komen Foundation this morning about the Race For The Cure.
