It is hard to believe that it has been one year since the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico caught fire triggering now infamous BP Oil spill.

This is a sad day for America after so much of our coastline and marine life were destroyed. Economies and towns were basically choked out because many of them in Louisiana were based on the fishing industry which was rendered extinct due to the oil slick that ran for miles and was so huge you could see it from satellite images in space.

The personal loss is one we should think of as well because families lost fathers, brothers, uncles and more that died in the explosion and fire on the Deepwater Horizon. I will say a prayer for them all. The saddest thing of all is that after the devastation that BP caused they still turned a profit, and off shore drilling is no safer as a result of the havoc they wreaked.
