Blake Shelton Drive-In Concert Coming to 4 Local Screens
Blake Shelton and friends will be performing on a Capital Region Drive-In screen near you later this month.
It looks like Garth Brooks may have started a trend! Blake Shelton is now next in line to broadcast a concert performance to drive-in movie theaters nationwide, including 4 right here in the Capital Region.
Encore has just announced their 'Drive-In Nights' concert series will be kicking off with Blake's performance special on Saturday, July 25th. The experience will also feature some interviews and storytelling according to a press release from Encore. Blake will be joined by Gwen Stefani and Trace Adkins and the concert will be shown at the following area drive-ins:
- Malta Drive-In
- Hi-Way Drive-In - Coxsackie
- Jericho Drive-In - Glenmont
- Ozoner 29 Twin Drive-In - Broadalbin
Admission for this one will be $114.99 per vehicle (up to 6 people) and passes will go on sale Tuesday, July 14th at Noon through Ticketmaster.
From the looks of it, more of these shows will be announced soon as Encore has several "coming soon" slots reserved for more on their website. So you can expect similar events later this summer and in the fall before the drive-ins close up for the colder months.
Our first preference is always to see shows in person, but based on the response to the Garth concert showing a few weeks ago, this is a great alternative right now. It may be different, but it is still a great opportunity to get out with family and friends for a night to share the live music experience. The pandemic may be changing how we see shows, but it will never take away our love and enjoyment of live Country music.
