Bike Sharing Is Here-So What Does It Cost?
A few weeks ago, I told you about the bike sharing program that will be available in 38 locations throughout Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany and Troy. The bikes are set to be ready to hit the road by the end of this month. Many people are curious to what the cost will be and if it's worth it.CDTA announced that the cost of the bike sharing will vary depending how frequent of a rider you want to be. The basic rate for renting a CDPHP Cycle bicycle will be $5 per hour. An annual pass will be available for $70 and a student annual pass will only be $35. The annual passes also allow for 60 minutes of riding time per day.
There is also a special "founding member" pass that will allow riders to purchase up to 90 minutes of riding per day for the next two years for just $105. That is a huge discount.
