Become A NY State Forest Ranger
There is a need for forest rangers here in New York state now that the weather is getting warmer and hikers will be going out more. Here's how to become one. We are lucky to have the beautiful Adirondacks and so many places to hike and enjoy the outdoors. But because there is such an influx of people out in the outdoors and the number of forest rangers has remained the same, more rangers are needed.
According to News 10 ABC, there is a need for forest rangers because as of right now there aren't enough for the number of hikers and adventurers enjoying the outdoors. There was a recent incident where thirteen rangers were called to an injured hiker which meant that out of one hundred and six rangers ten percent responded to this incident.
