Starting today and running through the weekend, one of the most beautiful festivals happens in the skies above Lake George. Here is more information about The Adirondack Balloon Festival. For forty six years, The Adirondack Balloon Festival has been one of the most anticipated events of the year. This year is no exception. It is a spectacular sight and it's more than just hot air balloons in the skies over Lake George.

According to visitlakegeorge.com, the festival will happen at the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Queensbury. It will feature many varieties of balloons in all shapes and sizes.  Thursday (September 20th), are opening ceremonies with live music, food vendors, kid's activities and the flight of up to twenty hot air balloons. The flight depends on wind and weather.

The highlight of The Adirondack Balloon Festival is "Lighting Up The Night" Airport Moonglow at 8pm on Saturday (Spetember 22nd). Thirty plus balloons are launched into the night sky. You are encouraged to bring your flashlights.
