This is actually before and after footage from that horrible earthquake in Nepal.   It was captured using a drone. If it wasn't so tragic I would be  spending more time marveling at the photography.   But this is something you have to see to believe.

As I'm sure you know, Nepal was hit with a horrible earthquake recently - 7.8 on the Richter scale, which is outrageously huge.    According to latest reports from Quartz.com, there are now more than 7,000 confirmed dead.

You know,  when I first heard about drones, I thought to myself "this is just going to be a modern-day version of model airplanes"   I envisioned it all for recreational use, or maybe a handy way to deliver pizzas and Amazon purchases.  But it definitely does have a very useful function,  especially in cases of an emergency like this where you can't drive into an area easily.

The video coming off of this thing is absolutely astounding.   I don't think NBC or CNN could do any better with their equipment.  This is breathtaking (and heartbreaking) to watch, but I think it needs to be seen.  Maybe it will spur more donations to help the plight of these poor people

If you would like to donate, here's one site I found - RedCross.org.  Let's hope we can take a breather from  fighting with each other in this world long enough to help some others!
