One company stating that another company stole their idea. In a story from CNN, Apple says it's sick and tired of Samsung ripping off the iPad and iPhone. On Friday, Apple filed a lawsuit saying that Samsung ripped off the iPhone and iPad, and committing patent and trademark infringement. This stems from the Galexy line of mobile products by Samsung, including the Galaxy S smartphone and the Galaxy Tab tablet. If you look at the products from both companies, they do look alike. An Apple representative actually said that "it's no coincidence that Samsung's latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging,"

From All Things Digital, it mentioned the statement about "This kind of blatant copying is wrong, and we need to protect Apple's intellectual property when companies steal our ideas." This included a look at how close the products do look alike.

A kind of funny side note, Samsung is also a supplier of components to Apple, and manufactures at some of the processors used inside the iPhone, and iPad. Apple says the Galaxy Tab uses a rectangular body with rounded corners, a black border, like that of the iPad's product design. So can we call this “high tech identity theft?”

With these two companies battling it out, do you have a preference on which devices you like?
