The Altamont Fair will be closing a day early to clear out the fairgrounds before the arrival of tropical storm Henri.

After the state of New York declared a state of emergency last night, the Altamont Fair announced in the interest of public safety the fair will be closed today (August 22nd). This will allow all involved with the fair to safely clear the grounds before any bad weather arrives.

The latest Weather Channel Forecast is calling for up to 6 inches of rain for parts of the region today, and a flood watch is in effect for the region through Monday.
