One great summer thing in the Albany area is the fairs. Next week from August 16 – 21, it’s time for my favorite – The Altamont Fair. I’m not sure why it’s always been my favorite, but it is. My dad, mom, brother and sister-in-law took me there almost every year, when I was a child. I still enjoy going to it. This year it’s going to be even cooler. They’re offering the $15 dollar all inclusive ticket, which will pay for your parking, the shows and the rides. This year I get to go there on Friday August 19 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., for WGNA Day. You’ll get to enjoy some live music from the Steven L. Smith Band and The Back 40 Band.

Besides all of that, it's also time to get some fair food. You have to love fair food. Jake did a story on his favorite fair foods. Usually they’re not the healthiest of choices, but you have to indulge once in awhile. Mine would be the fried dough. A little story about candy apples – when I was a kid, my mom got me one. I bit into it, and ended up with a loose tooth when I bit into it. Don’t worry, they’re perfectly good – make that real good. This was when I still had my baby teeth. I told you it happened when I was a child. What a way to almost lose a tooth.

I also enjoy walking around and seeing some of the old engines that are still running - A touch of history. What is your favorite part of The Altamont Fair?
