Roger Maris broke the legendary Babe Ruth's immortal home run record of 61 home runs, 61 year ago in 1961. I think you get the point. The stars have aligned and another New York Yankee has joined Maris in passing the Babe's best single season mark.

Aaron Judge hit home run number 61 on the season on Wednesday night in 7th inning. On the 8th pitch of what looked like his best at-bat in a few games, Judge hit a rocket off of Toronto's Tim Mayza that hit off a wall and bounced into the Blue Jays' bullpen.

The homer tied #99 for the American League single season record with former Pinstripe legend Roger Maris. The Maris family was in attendance sitting next to Judge's mother. The sense of relief for the Yankee star, his family and his teammates was evident. Everyone exploded with joy as the MVP favorite rounded the bases. Oh by the way, in Aaron Judge style, the home run broke a tie and gave the Yankees a 5-3 lead in the top of the 7th.

Now Yankees manager Aaron Boone may be able to give his superstar the rest that he needs. Judge has not missed a game since the first week of August. Judge got one more at-bat in the 8th inning of Wednesday's game and grounded out to shortstop. The designated hitter ended up going 1 for 3 and walk with 2 RBI's 2 runs scored. Just another night in the Judge's Chambers for the 2022 New York Yankees.
