After 6 Years New Store Moving into Colonie Center’s old Sears
It seems that the malls in the area and across the country are changing into entertainment complexes. When Sears moved out of Colonie Center back in 2017, it appeared that nothing would ever take that space. Now a store is moving in and it has nothing to do with entertainment.
What Store is Taking the Sears Space in Colonie Center?
The old Sears space on the lower level of Colonie Center next to Whole Foods will be filled by a store called, "Floor and Decor".
They offer a wide variety of tile, wood, laminate, vinyl, and natural stone flooring along with accessories. They also have free design services. The store will be fifty-seven thousand square feet.

The closest Floor & Decor is in West Hartford, Connecticut according to the Times Union. This will be the first store in the Capital Region.
When Will Floor & Decor Open in Colonie Center?
There was no immediate answer as to when Floor & Decor will open inside Colonie Center. This will be a welcome addition considering that the Sears space has been vacant for six years.
