A Peak inside Schenectady’s New Haunted Attraction! Dare to Enter?
Haunting Season in Upstate NY
You know it's Fall in the Capital Region when everyone starts to embrace cool evenings, shorter days, the start of football, pumpkin spice all-the-things, leaf peeping, apple picking, and of course, those Halloween haunted attractions.
We have zip lines, hayrides, corn mazes, and more, but I'm partial to the haunted houses. I kind of like the feeling of being trapped inside a well-adorned haunted house, while at the mercy of bloodthirsty demons, zombies, and or demented scientists.
The Castle of Terror
There's a new haunt in the Capital Region called "The Castle of Terror."
It will open in October and is set to take place inside the Armory Studios NY, located at 125 Washington Ave, Schenectady, from October 6th through Halloween.
According to Richard Lovrich, Creative Director at Armory Studios NY, they've teamed up with the talented cast and crew from The MOPCO Improv theatre as their "Frighteneer crew."
Lovrich, excited about the October 6th opening told us that, "at this time, mutants are being crafted, rooms creepified and spiders hung in holiday spirit fashion."
How much is it, and is it scary?
Prices for this indoor, rain-or-shine event are around $20 per ticket, and only those ages 13+ are allowed inside. This is not for the faint of heart. It's described as a "scary and chilling experience that includes graphic imagery and actors portraying various gruesome characters."
Armory Studios NY and the Mopco Improv Theatre dare you to endure the spine-chilling horrors of The Castle of Terror, the region’s rain or shine, indoor fright spectacular. -Armory Studios NY
Armory Studios is a regional hub for film production. Built in 1936, the space consists of a 90K sq ft building with creepy recesses, rarely seen by the public, perfect for the ghoulish transformation into a haunted house!
According to the creative team, this haunted attraction is all about one word: SURVIVAL!
"To survive, you must navigate the ghastly underground lair of the castle’s mad doctor and his horde of insatiable zombies, creeping spiders, bloodthirsty bats, and dreaded mutant abominations."
Food, snacks, and beverages for kids and adults are inside the "OFFICER’S CLUB", featuring free, seasonally creepy entertainment every Saturday Night during while the Castle Of Terror is operating.
The Castle Of Terror opens to the public on October 6th...if you dare!
