7-Year-Old Fighting Brain Tumor Wants Letters from Dogs
One little girl has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor and you and your dog can help her healing process with just one letter.
Emma Mertens is 7-years-old and was diagnosed with an aggressive tumor called DIPG just last month, according to Good Morning America. DIPG, or Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, means that the brain tumor was found in her brain stem. The disease usually infects children between five and seven years old. She's currently undergoing treatment at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
To help her smile through treatments, family and friends sent Emma letters from their dogs. It put such a smile on her face, so they've reached out on Facebook. Now, Emma's family is asking anyone who can to send Emma a letter from their dog. They originally were having people email but they have gotten so many messages that they had to start a PO Box too! She's gotten over 50,000 letters from dogs all over the world!
If you (or your dog) would like to send Emma a card/letter, you can send it to:
