$21K ‘Take 5′ Winner Sold in Rensselaer County
I love playing the lottery but lately, I think I'm playing the wrong games. It seems that more and more winners in the Capital Region of twenty thousand dollars or more are coming from the New York Lottery's Take 5 Drawing. This time a winner cashed in on a twenty-one thousand Take 5 lottery ticket in Rensselaer County.
On Thursday, April 14, a ticket was sold at Tamarac Wine & Spirits in Tamarac Plaza in Cropseyville for the Take 5 drawing according to News 10 ABC. It's worth twenty-one thousand thirty-four dollars and fifty cents. That's a nice little payday for picking five numbers.
I tend to buy New York Lottery scratch-off tickets from time to time but I never think to play Take 5. There have been a lot of Capital Region winners of the Take 5 drawing in the past few months. Just last month there was a sixty thousand dollar Take 5 winner at the Hannaford off of Wolf Road and a twenty thousand dollar winner at a Stewart's in Schenectady and a thirty-five thousand dollar winner at the Halfmoon-Mechanicville Stewart's. There was a fifty-five thousand dollar Take 5 winner in Waterford in early January. Also in January, there were two, thirty thousand dollar, Take 5 winners. One was in Hartford, NY, and the other in Amsterdam. Back in June, there was a sixty-three thousand dollar winner in Rensselear.
I guess I'm playing the wrong game because the weird thing is, is that I have been in or frequent at least three of the places where the winning tickets were sold. The Take 5 winner at the Halfmoon-Mechanicville Stewart's in the one I fill up with gas and buy scratch-offs from time to time.
In case you are interested in playing the Take-5, the numbers are drawn from 39 numbers. The drawings take place every night at 10:30. You have a year to claim your winnings. Hopefully, one of us is next.
