It’s Reading, Writing, and Rhyming School Sign-up Time
We're getting there. The end of summer vacation. Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings here, but it's true! So I'm trying to do a little more advanced planning here and put out the call to teachers who would like to sign up for the Readin', Writin' and Rhymin' school program. Here's all you need to do!
Griswold Heights Kids in Troy Demonstrate Good Character In Song! [AUDIO]
The Reading, Writing and Rhyming Tour continues to be the highlight of my week here at the station. It's such a rewarding experience getting out there to work with kids from all over the area. This visit was no exception!
The Discovery Center In The Pine Bush: Readin’, Writin’ and Rhymin’ [AUDIO]
You pass by this building alot if you travel on Rte 155 in the Capital Region. It used to house a Credit Union. Many have wondered why noone has cut the lawn there in ages. There’s a great answer for that!
Hope 7 Summer Camp Singers Debut On Sean and Richie Show
The Reading Writing and Rhyming Tour this week made a special "whistle stop". This was the first of the summer camp appearances, and certainly not the last. Many of these summer camps that I go to take place in regular classrooms. Nothing wrong with that, but to actually be outside singing in the Grafton State Park with the Hope 7 kids? Nothing like it!
Off To Summer Camp for Richie’s Readin’, Writin’, and Rhymin’ Tour [AUDIO]
It's the end of another school year, and the conclusion of the 15th year of the Readin', Writin, and Rhymin' School Program. (Just kidding. We never close, not even for summer vacation!)
Ms. Bushey’s 4th Graders At Shaker Road Elementary Are Graduating! [AUDIO]
I always like to get the Reading, Writing and Rhyming progam out there toward the end of the school year to see if we can capture (in song) the excitement of moving up to the next grade level. Remember those days? Well, these kids are ready! They'll tell you about it in song.
Hadley Luzerne Kindergarten Kids Are Very Friendly [AUDIO]
Every class that I visit on the Reading Writing and Rhyming Tour is very friendly to me, don't get me wrong. But sometimes you meet OVER THE TOP friendly kids. Kids that make you laff so hard, you want to do something insane like play the piano with your elbow, nose and head. (Been there,-now I've done that at Hadley Luzerne Elementary School.)
A.W. Becker School Kids In Selkirk, NY Sing About Character [AUDIO]
I met quite a bunch of characters lately. Well, let me rephrase that. I took the Reading Writing and Rhyming program to the A.W. Becker School in Selkirk with the express purpose of writing a fun song a bunch of awesome second graders. However, they wanted to show everyone what great character traits they possess. You've gotta hear this!
Miller Hill School In Averill Park Has An Awesome Playground [AUDIO]
We have been on the lookout for the most awesome, "over the top" school playground in the Capital Region. And we found one that was so cool that I packed up the keyboard, drove out there and wrote a song with the kids that explains just how amazing it is!
Van Corlaer Schoolkids Sing To Help Capital Region Cops (AUDIO)
Every year, the Sean and Richie Show and WGNA do our part to help to raise money for families of police officers killed in the line of duty. It's a tragedy that keeps on happening no matter what we do, but we try very hard to ease the pain of these unfortunate people. To raise everyone's spirits (as well as awareness), however, it always helps to include the fantastic voices and talents of area
Schoharie Elementary School Is The Best
It is!!! Just ask the kids! They'll break into song at any moment to tell you about it. And I was lucky enough to be there to capture it with my handy-dandy recorder.
Woestina Elementary Song Written By Staff (VIDEO)
Sorry, but this school gets an extra blog. If you saw the other Woestina Elementary blog, you know that the school is possibly going to close due to budget considerations. Of course, the whole community is concerned. And you know that dedicated staff members and former ones as well are worried as well.
