Woman Dies Following Incident at Schoharie County Off-Road Event
A weekend event attended by many off-roading, bogging, tug-o-wars, trail-riding and racing enthusiasts, turned deadly for one teenager out in Schoharie County on Saturday night.
According to a report by WRGB CBS 6 News, 19-year-old Katie Falgiano of Budd Lake, NJ was killed from injuries sustained at the event known as "Mountain Maddness" in the town of Esperance.
The weekend event took place from June 13th -June 16th and the accident happened on Saturday night. While the actual cause of death has yet to be determined, according to the CBS 6 News story, Falgiano may have been thrown from her vehicle and ultimately pinned underneath it. Her body was then air-lifted to Albany Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
According to the Times Union, "Mountain Maddness" is an event that features ATV and 4-wheeler races, and at this time, it is not known what type of vehicle Katie Falgiano was inside at the time of the incident.
