Love it when we see local people and places on television, right? Well, a whole local town may soon be on the silver screen because they are applying for a show!

Rev. Pamela Bolton, pastor of Out of the Box Worship Center in Whitehall made a Facebook video asking for people to come being in the video to apply to the upcoming HGTV show "Hometown Takeover," according to the Post Star.

According to their website, HGTV is looking for a town with a population less than 40,000 people, "homes with great architecture waiting to be revealed," and a "main street that needs a facelift." The application deadline is February 7th.

The people behind this local campaign are asking for everyone from Whitehall to apply because the more people that apply, they're hoping will show that this town needs it the most. As a part of their video, they included some specific things they would like to see, like new community center and hopes give Broadway a face-lift using their already updated Main Street. This is just one video that they made but anyone can make a video and upload it. HGTV recommends:

  • A place that you think needs a makeover. i.e. a diner, coffee shop, home or playground.
  • A tour around town—the places that need help and the people who love this town.
  • Anywhere your town needs love and what you love about it.
