We've got a pretty good education system here in New York, so how do we compare to other states?

One great thing about raising a family in the Capital Region is we have so many great schools, from grade level to college. And the schools are so good, they put New York among the best states in the US when it comes to education.

According to a Wallethub study, New York is the 12th most educated state. Wallethub based their rankings on "...educational attainment, school quality and achievement gaps between genders and races." New York ranked 18th and 12th in both of those categories, respectively. Broken down further, New York also ranked very well among states with the 'highest average university quality,' ranked at #5.

So, when it come to education and having the ability of attaining a high level of education, New York is a good place to be. Our neighbors ranked very well, with Massachusetts landing at #1 and Vermont at #3. You can see Wallethub's full rankings here.
