Want To Be A Firefighter? Here’s Your Chance

Is there a fire in you? That's what volunteer fire departments all over the state are asking. If you have always wanted to be a firefighter, here is your chance to get some information and become a hero. New York state is recruiting volunteer firefighters across the state this weekend (April 27th and 28th). According to News 10 ABC, they are looking for anyone who thinks that being a volunteer firefighter may be something they want to do. They hope that those interested will stop by their local fire department this weekend.

Seventy percent of the state's first responders are volunteers with local fire departments according to the Fireman's Association of the State of New York. But the numbers over the years have been getting lower.
